Every Wednesday from 9–11am, Westminster opens its doors to neighbors experiencing hard times in downtown Sacramento. Meals, showers, medical care, housing help, and genuine community.
What's Available
Meals & Coffee
Hot drinks and a nutritious meal, provided by volunteers. For many guests, this is their most reliable meal of the week.
Mobile Showers & Haircuts
Mercy Holistic Ministry sets up in the parking lot every Wednesday, providing showers and haircuts on-site.
Medical Care
Sacramento Street Medicine offers patient-led medical care in a private, respectful setting, meeting guests where they are.
Housing Navigation
Navigators from Sacramento First Steps and The Exodus Project meet privately with guests in the chapel to connect them with next steps toward stability.

Books available for guests to read on-site.
Bike Repairs
The Bike Kitchen sets up on the front steps.
Phone Charging
A staffed charging station keeps guests connected to email, services, and family.
Free Pop-Up Shop
Clothing and hygiene products available at no cost.

Support the Pop-Up Shop
Hygiene products and clothing always welcome. In colder months: hats, new underwear, gloves, and new socks. Donations can be dropped off at Westminster any day.
Give Financially
Write "Wednesday Respite" in the memo of your check or donation envelope. You can also round up at the monthly Equal Exchange coffee sale or donate bags of coffee or orange juice directly.
About Wednesday Respite
Since 2022, Westminster has partnered with Midtown HART and local organizations to offer a weekly place of rest, care, and community for neighbors experiencing hard times in downtown Sacramento. From 9 to 11am, the church transforms. Coffee is poured. Phones are charged. Meals are shared in the Patio Room. Clothing and essentials are available through a free pop-up shop in the courtyard. Some guests sit quietly with a book from our lending library. Others gather around the piano. More than 100 guests walk through our doors each week, welcomed not as cases to be managed, but as neighbors.
