Westminster Presbyterian Church has been a civic and spiritual anchor in Sacramento since 1849. Our building on N Street is on the National Historic Register and turns 100 in 2026. Our commitment to this city has not wavered.
Westminster is a welcoming, inclusive community of faith, following Christ's example by supporting spiritual growth, serving others, and promoting peace and justice.
At Westminster, a growing, diverse congregation of adults and children worships together each Sunday. We follow Christ's example through a progressive theology grounded in Scripture and a culture of open communication that fosters trust, honesty, and respect. We are a beacon in the community, connecting our love for music and education with our commitment to faith-based service and mission.
LGBTQ Affirming: Westminster is fully and deliberately inclusive of LGBTQ individuals and families at every level of church life.
Safe Sanctuary: We maintain a Safe Church Policy to protect all members of our community, especially children and vulnerable adults.
DEIB: We are actively committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, including honest examination of our own biases.
Accessible: We strive to be as physically and socially accessible as possible for guests of all abilities.
Gluten-Free Communion: Gluten-free bread is offered at every communion service.
Pet Friendly: Our animal policy welcomes animal lovers while considering those with allergies or concerns.
Westminster began gathering in 1849, just months after California's statehood. Our building at 1300 N Street was constructed in 1927 and will celebrate its centennial in 2027.
