A welcoming, progressive church in the heart of Sacramento.

Westminster Presbyterian Church is a PCUSA congregation in Sacramento across from the state Capitol. Grounded in the Reformed tradition, we worship with music that moves us, serve neighbors who need us, and welcome absolutely everyone, including those still working out what they believe.

This is who we are
Not a program. A practice.

We are LGBTQ affirming, fully, deliberately, and without reservation.

We are committed to confronting systemic poverty, dismantling structural racism, and building congregational vitality.

We do not use these words as a badge. We use them as a challenge to ourselves.

Who We Are
Every Wednesday morning, we open our doors.
This is faith in action. And it happens here, every week.

From 9 to 11am, Westminster becomes a place of rest, care, and community for neighbors experiencing hard times in downtown Sacramento. Coffee. Meals. Showers. Medical care. Housing navigation. Bike repairs. Clothing. More than 100 guests walk through our doors each week, welcomed not as cases to be managed, but as neighbors.

Music is our language.

Westminster has been a home for extraordinary music for generations. Our traditional choir and organist anchor 11am worship, and a live band gets us lifted at 9am. The Peace & Justice Choir is an open ensemble — anyone in Sacramento can join, no audition required. Westminster Presents! brings concerts and live performances to the city all year long.

If music is how you connect with something larger than yourself, you will find your people here.

Westminster is a church where you do not need to have it all figured out. You are welcome whether you grew up in church or have never set foot in one, whether faith is something you hold firmly or something you are still sorting through.
